I love my bf to death, and he's said the same to me. I got to be friends with him at a time when i was very bitter and angry about the world in general (and incredibly shy at that), and I was stupid enough to let him turn me into a romantic again. but since we started college, it's not the same. I'm trying to go out of my way to see him, but sometimes when I do he gets mad and says he needs to work on school and always "we knew it would be like this". Then we always get into some fight. I don't think he appreciates having me around anymore, and i'm just there. I know he still loves me, he just never shows it anymore. On top of all this, my friends think i'm too good for him and i could do better. He's my only friend here, and the only reason I stick around this town is because I love him more than anything. ANYWAY, do you think there's anyway to salvage our relationship? Is it me that needs to change? Or is it just over?

You "know" he still loves you even though he doesn't show it anymore? Hello! Actions speak louder than words! It's easy to say "I love you" but hard to act in a loving manner... which is what you deserve!
I think you need to read the book CO-DEPENDENT NO MORE or other books like that because sounds unhealthy to me.
I had a friend go through something similar and she "got over it" in a very unique way. She went to a hypnotherapist who did a "past life regression" on her and it worked, it sorted out the problem and she was able to see she wasn't in love with him as he truly is (and was) but in love with the idea of what he could be.
You need to open your eyes, do a reality check and MOVE ON!

I think it's over..his behaviors indicate that he is moving on with or without you. I'd find other interests and give him some space see what happens. He probably feels more responsible for your happiness or maybe you are too neddy with him. Make some friends and focus on school, see what happens. If he loves oyu..this will work..if not, then it wasn't meant to be. You're young and have a lot to experience yet..college was the best years of my life. Live it up!! Good luck!!

i think that u need to give it a break. If its like this now it well be worse later and trust me they never change. U dont want to be in a relationship like that 4ever find somone that lifts u up not brings u down. Grow a backj bone so that u can injoy ur life.

You answered your question in the question. You say you love him "to death." It's over. You're just trying to hang on because you personally don't want to believe you've made a mistake. Your friends see that you have... move on. I know it hurts, but real love doesn't make you miserable and confused.

Ur story reminds me of what happened to me. Will what with me is that my best friend hates my ex and all her friends hate me we ended up braking up. The other thing was that I'm moving to another province. So to be fair to both of u. I would say ended it so that u to are not fighting all the time. That's what ended up happening to me and my ex. Take it from its not fun but that's what will happen sooner then u think.
