Typical tip should be at least 10% however, depends on how good they did, with the cut, customer service, and what not. I usually tip $10 - $15 for my hairdresser but that's because she rocks. She always does my hair great and she's very personable. I don't get bored with her conversation. BUT, I've been going to her for about 4 years now.

Usually the person cutting your hair only gets a small percentage of what you pay anyway. They live off of tips more than the actual work they do. My Mom was a beautician for 30 years. It may look like an easy job but trust me all day on your feet and legs and listening to people complain about everything in the world. She could have been a psychiatrist.

I always give about 15%. It really varies on your opinion of the cut.

15% is good and that is $4.50, a little more would be OK, but I would not tip over 20 % which would be $6.00
