Try this quote - it's extremely true (even tho it has nothing to do with your question):
"What good you do for yourself dies with you; what good you do for the world is, and forever will be, immortal".
And I believe in Neitzsche's comment - who is to say that the way the Churches and religions want us to worship is the way God Himself would like us to. I personally believe that all God needs for us to "worship" him, and show him "praise" is to be human - help our fellow humans in their times of need. Show compassion when appropriate. That's just my opinion.

This quote is not interesting at all considering the fact that the author was a basket case which shows that God deserves all the praise and that he blesses those who do but unfortunately for this author, he could of live in health and prosperity.

According to Osho, Neitzsche had the right idea, but he went too far and became a madman.
It's funny how, even though I've been an atheist for a few years, agnostic before that, and indifferent up until then - I still have epiphanies where I realize the god christians worship just doesn't exist. It just keeps coming home to me.

If God created everything in this world and breathed life into me as I believe he did then I would say he is worthy of praise and should not have to ask for it.

The reason God tells us to praise him is not for his benifit he does not need anything from us. He knows that he inhabits the praises of his people so therefore we beneifit from praising him not the other way around.

I tend to agree and I'm a believer in God and Jesus
My own statement is similar
Any God that asks you to kiss his boot isn't a very good God.

It is not God who wants to be praised. It is us who need to praise him in order to become aware of his presence
