listen up.in Islam we dont dress are daughters and wives in mini skirts and tight sweaters.we dont put them on corners and in drinkin establishments to serve filth to men.we dont put them in dirty magazines,dirty disgusting movies that no father wishes to see his child in.domestic violence is in Epidemic proportions in your lands.rape,incest and other sicknesses fill the airwaves and newspapers.and from the top of your society to the least,from politicians and priests to school teachers and plumbers.your females cant feel safe in one of the most open society's there is.having to resort to self-defense classes and carrying firearms,mace to protect them from who..the Muslims?i think you should ask that very question to the Christians and Jews of your society.or maybe they have already answered it for you.consider.

No they are not. Infact, in the Quran the Muslim women are given rights, and it is said that they should be treated with utmost respect. Some men dont follow that (not only Muslim men)...men from all cultures and religions.

Women are equal to men but you have to note the differences. In fact Mothers are seen in a higher regard to fathers because they go through so much pain when they give birth. It is said that heaven lies at your mother's feet.
I think you may have got this impression through different cultures/regimes i.e Taliban, rather then find out what Islam really has to say regarding men and women.

All I know is this: The Quran says that women are SUPPOSED to be respected and taken care of....not mistreated. They are held in high regards. Muslims say that if you DO mistreat a woman, you are not a true Muslim. So I'm not really sure! That's what I've been told.

Not much to do with religion this age old question!
We have known throughout history that women are worth less than men!
The word 'Chattels' springs to mind! (I cant understand why)?
Women are here to give birth and provide 'entertainment' to men thats all really, apart from a bit of washing and dusting !
I thought every one understood that?? Regardless of religion!
