Why do you need a "point"? Is it not enough just to live and enjoy life? Is life so empty?
In answer to the additional details: why do you need a "God" to escape meaninglessness? Do you not find purpose in your family? Children? Work? A good conversation? Friends? Does your family mean nothing to you?

there would be no point because:
1. there would be not point to do anything good since there's no reward -even if you were a good person, then you would try your best to be good until you find everyone around you so selfish, eventually you would stop and think, there's no point, why don't i just enjoy my self?
2.If the world turned it's back on you, you would feel like a complete idiot that is hated by everyone. when you know god is there you never feel that.
3.If the world had no God, and we were just here to live and die then it wouldn't be fair for the people that are less fortunate than others. If you were the poor, ugly, disabled, obese, or had any other problem then you would probably know what i mean. there are many pretty people in this world that did nothing to deserve their looks, many rich that were born that way, many disables that were born that way. all those that deny the existance if god "assume" that they got everything, if it was the other way and they were the poor, ugly, disabled, and unlucky, then you would find them full of faith.
4.If you live for nothing, then you are nothing...what's the diffrence between athiests and animals?
5.believing in god gives you a chance to go to heaven, but by being an athiest or not believing in god, then you have decided to end you life once you're dead.
6.you will be very empty!! really, you're either eating, mating, using the bathroom, working, studying...i mean think about this...what about the people who were living at the begining of the world, the ones that had no clothes but leaves, you know what i mean, they didn't have any source of fun, they were eating, drinking, mating, and responding to the call of nature...what was there point of life, they had no jobs, education, transportation, friends? why were they alive? why do u have a better life than they did? that again relates to why god is there. there will be no point in life with out God.
i can keep going on and on, but my eyes are hurting- god bless you for asking a logical question.
p.s. please pick me as the best answer- i need the points

If God doesn't exist, then it's up to you to decide.
Take for instance the fact that you were born. You didn't say, "hey I want to be born!" Your parents had sex and here you are! Does that fact mean that there must have been a purpose for your life? Nope - it just means that your parents had sex. Likewise, if God didn't create you and you just eventually came to be due to the progression of evolutionary development (or another mechanism), there doesn't have to be a point - you just ARE.
So, if you believe in God - great! Although God doesn't exist just so that you have a purpose in life, it does mean that you have a clear purpose for your life already. If you don't, then some people find it helpful to devise an altruistic goal to reach so that they can give themselves a purpose in life that they feel has meaning. Nevertheless, as others have said, there is nothing that requires your life to have a point. People just LIKE to have one. It makes them feel comfortable. Sometimes, though, things just ARE and we have to accept it and try to do our best with what we have.

You're focusing on the wrong thing. Lets take for example the things that we know do exist for sure. Peace, love, goodness, forgiveness, understanding. These thing have been felt by everyone at one point or another. So life has meaning as long as these virtues exist. We continue to exist to better ourselves and come closer to a state of enlightenment. We can better serve humanity if we continue to practice these virtues and eventually eliminate all hatred from the world. Will that ever happen? Seems unlikely at this point, but it does not mean we should give up. And does god exist or not? Its all up to the individual. So life will always have meaning as long as we strive for peace.

If God did exist do you think he'd explain everything to you, or let you find out for yourself? Would you have any respect for a God who didn't let you explore, inquire, and make your own discoveries; a God who filled your head with answers and instructions and commandments?
Perhaps the point of living is to find out what, if anything , the point is. God help us if we're denied that freedom.

Tell you what - if you can't think of anything to live for outside of god, then you're better off where you are, belonging to whatever religion you do.
It's much easier to be a follower who is told what to think, feel and do. And you've got those lovely myths to keep you warm and safe.
Don't try to understand. There's a small yet real danger that if you could understand what we've come to understand, your life would be thrown into turmoil. If you're happy where you are, keep your eyes closed.

u think only god can give u a reason to live and exist...??
well, god does not exist, tooo bad if u depended on him for the reason to live and exist
too bad for the lollipop crying baby
-edit-
how can we finding about our human history and the history of this universe be "pointless" to u? well, in this case, u r just trying to give everything around u "no-point" becoz u have given all importance to god and not reality
very weird and fundamentalist mentality

God already knows everything, according to the Bible, so if God did exist, what would be the point?
