Man, you're absolutely right...how long have you 2 not seen each other ? You have to tell your parents that you're dying to see her.

It is nothing shameful for a guy of 17 to have a gf, it proves to your parents that you're no longer a kid !

I have to agree that the holidays should be spent with the family. Is there any other time you could go and see her? Also I think you should probally tell your parents you have a gf, they may respect you for your honesty.

Until you are 18, home is where you're parents are. If you can't handle telling them you have a girlfriend, you lack the maturity to travel alone anyway.

Are you in a home stay or are you living with your natural parents. It is your natural parents decision if you can go or not. If you are in home stay they probably just want you to experience Christmas in Canada.

I think this will not fly!!! stay in touch with your girl, but spend time with family at the Holidays. Next year you will be18 and then you can do this legally on your own! Be patient. Good things come to those who wait!

perhaps they think you are not old enough or mature enough to travel that far away from home??
I think that any responsible parent would say pretty much the same thing. And they are probably right, because you havn't been mature enough to even tell them about your girlfriend.

Listen to your parents. Wait until you are 18.

You should just tell them. TELL THEM ABOUT YOUR GF.
