as long as you use 10 volume or 20 volume you will be fine, 10 volume is deposit only does not lift your hair color, 20 volume lifts color up to 2 levels lighter.cream is better ,not as runny as clear peroxide.

i am assuming she meant coloring peroxide. in hair coloring, to make the color work, the use of peroxide is recommended. there are different levels from 0 volume (which is for shine only) up to 40 volume (which is for high lift platinum blonde) but, you can only get these products if you are a licensed stylist. an must be used with certain color brands. if it is an over the counter color, the peroxide is already with the contents. the lower the number, the less lift and permant it will be. But, you CANNOT mix with home peroxide(that is used for disinfecting wounds etc.) who knows how it will react with the color and your hair,if you have any left. I am a hairdresser.

peroxide is really bad for your hair. It does bleach it and many hair dyes have some peroxide in them. Back in the day people who wanted blond hair and couldn't afford the salon would dump a bottle of peroxide on their hair. It can really ruin your hair. I would get a second opinion before using peroxide on your hair. Also there should be a number on the box you can call for questions and advice.

Get it done professionally. You are taking the chance of your hair turning orange no matter how little the peroxide is.

I have the same hair color and my hair turned orange. You can't fool with dark brown hair it can grabbed orange or too much red.
