SORRY 2200 cash with 1500 maint. So a grand total of about 3700 for the vehicle to be in top shape.

When I read your post, I immediately saw two red flags. The first red flag I saw is the high mileage on a vehicle that is only seven years old. That's alot of mileage to have to start out with.

The second red flag I saw is the price. 22K for a '99 Blazer??? There is no way a '99 Blazer is worth anywhere near 22K. Then, you have to factor in the additional money you will need to spend for parts and labor - and that's just for the things you KNOW are wrong with the vehicle.

I own a '97 Blazer, which I purchased for 17K six years ago. It had 34,000 miles on it at the time of purchase, and now has 98,000 miles. It's been a great little vehicle, and has needed just regular maintenance, plus the replacement of the starter switch at 60K and new brakes every 35K or so.

I wouldn't purchase ANY car, even something like a Honda, with that many miles on it. Regardless of what the present owner says, you have no idea of how the car was driven. Some people treat their cars like they are members of their family - others treat their cars like they'd just a soon take a sledgehammer to them. When looking to buy a used car, you want to try to buy as close to the 'car as family member' as you can get.

My suggestion to you is to buy from a reputable dealer only - and try to buy a certified car, not "as is" if you can. Also try to buy a car with the lowest mileage you can find, and make sure you run the VIN (on something like vehix.com to see if the car has been in accidents or is a salvaged vehicle. If it's salvaged, it shouldn't be on the lot anyway.) Depending on what you're interested in, 22K can get you a NEW car in alot of cases.

I would RUN, not walk - away from this deal.

PLEASE READ ME!

No way! You can get a new one for almost that much!
A 99 Blz 4door w/82k (correct miles) in perfect condition is worth about $3700-$4200 (wholesale) and $42 is being generous. So figure retail it would be worth around $6200 $7200 in the winter season (again a perfect truck) Do NOT buy this truck.

OH! twenty two hundred! woooow!
No its still not worth it just because of the mileage alone.
The repair is a minus all together.
That truck is a $1500 truck all day long! And that is generous.

Its double high on mileage and broken? You better not.

A friend of mine had one.

While his girlfriend was driving it, it spontaneously burst into flames. She got out and it burned into the pavement.

Its almost a coming problem, some fluid line leaks onto the manifolds apparently.

The price is very good... but you gotta ask why.
