Sometimes the flaws they think they see in others are really their own and they can't stand that. Whatever, maybe they're just nasty people. Don't let them get to you.

People are rude because they can be. We must learn not to take things so personal and consider the source. I'm sure there have been a time or two when you were rude. Sometimes things hit your wrong, you have a bad day and take it out on someone else, or your think your being funny when your not, or you simple want to act simple. No matter when someone answers you rude move right along. There are so many people on yahoo answers and we are all very different if you can't take the heat don't ask the question. And I have had people be very rude to me but I've had some people really help me and some very thoughtful and nice. You roll with the punches and take it as it comes. Respond to those you want to and the rest put them in file 13

You should read the Brazilian version of Yahoo Answers! Somehow, people manage to be even ruder than here, believe it or not!!
On the other hand, it seems to me that people are less rude in the Spanish speaking Yahoo Answers.
And, definitely, people are even less rude in the German Yahoo Answers.
I´ve often wondered if these differences are a consequence of the cultures, or just a consequence of the type of person that uses the service. For example, perhaps there are younger people using the USA and the Brasil Yahoo Answers; maybe they don´t realize there are real people behind the questions and that this isn´t just a game in which you´re "cool" if you´re rude.

Some people are just rude because they have problems of their own and they tend to take it out on others. But I would need more info and so far your questions seem legit. Why would people give you rude answers? I was once told that a negative answer doesn't always mean a bad one and it also depends on how to you take the answer. Sometimes they don't mean to be rude. Just take this things with a grain of salt and move on. :-P Have a nice day!

The environment is anonymous. It helps many be as rude and nasty as they can, with virtually no consequences. Now, the same people in real life may be completely different, even picked on for being so mellow

Rudeness is actually a perception. What you consider rude someone else considers a way of being superior so it all falls on the person's perception, their morals and the way they react to the comments.

Some people are rude because they can answer without people know who they are. The mask of unknownest works in their favor.

Sometimes telling the truth is understood as being rude( the truth is hard to take ) and some of these questions only deserve a rude answer. So if ya don't like it you know what you can do.........Flo

Because they don't know you, so they have no reason to be polite. You're not their family, friends or work colleagues. For some its probably a way of letting of steam, others simply don't care.
