What is stupid is a group of followers that believe that violence is the only way to react to things they find offensive.

I think he was right on target with what he said as was proven shortly after he said it.However, he was quoting the writings of a 14th century theologian. He apologized for any hurt feelings. Which is more than I thought should have happened. What about the nun and the churches the radicals he was talking about destroyed? Are they not crazy and blood thirsty. Are they so weak in their religious faith that they cannot handle historical fact being presented?

How much longer will people continue to post the same questions here? The matter should now be closed. The Pope said nothing wrong and, whatever was said, the barbarians took their revenge by murdering an innocent nun. Do you want this to go on forever?

The pope didn't say anything stupid. He didn't say anything evil. The media put a spin on it. One popular Evangelical minister said OUTRIGHT that all Muslims should be killed but the media didn't care about that.
The pope quoted an ancient emperor and the media took it out of context and made it into something it wasn't. And the folks who hate Christians ran with it and made it into something it wasn't.

Everyone has a freedom of speech.
When people on your side speak like the Pope, you'd probably laugh and point fingers, which is a lot worse that the Pope. Besides, he was only quoting something.

What the Pope said Just happens to be the TRUTH....so get over it...
You sound like a foolish Muslim who still hasn't recognized the truth concerning the violence taught by Islam.

What did he say that wasn't true? In fact soon after his speech they proved him right, burning churches, demanding his murder, threatening Rome, and what about that murdered Nun? Who are the ones shedding innocent blood even of children? As the Bible says; "By their fruits ye shall know them."

He's old! The catholics would kick him out of the vatican but, he's too old. The poor old man is probably getting alittle senile, and what sounded good in a private conversation with a cardinale perhaps, didn't end up as a good public speech. Ooops.

I agree----------his Nazi upbringing is showing. Yet, the Cardinals should have known this when they elected him.
