Google
a lot of activities all along the canadian rockies...start with the
kananaskas area and work your way north....banff, lake louise, yoho, up to Jasper -esp Jasper....significantly fewer tourists

then try the area around Glacier Provential Park , BC

Golden Ears, Prov. Pk, BC

Many activities on Vancouver Island, BC

in the east....try Awenda Prov Pk, ONT
and esp Algonquin Prov PK....a WIDE range of activities

if you think of yourself as a "jeremiah johnson" outdoorsman....one of the most demanding -literally, could be life or death situation- google "Polar Bear Provential Park"...

ah yes....in the nw territories...you can find almost anything..but check out the black fly season...they can really do some damage and ruin any enjoyment that you might have had

great bear lake, maybe

for fishing...
google "kamloops, BC"

Depending on what time of year you come you can participate in every possible outdoor activity. We love the outdoors (except maybe in Winnipeg). The outdoors is generally FREE such as lake skating in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, or the Rideau Canal in Ottawa. HOWEVER, for all available activities at any time of the year then I suggest Vancouver, British Columbia where you can go from the beach to the boat to your ski boots in a single day!

The great outdoors is FREE of FEE in most places but not National or Provincial parks.

Visit the provinces' official websites. They have a lot of touristic info.
