Depends on how much body fat you have. You'll lose planty of body fat, but you end up making the weight back up in muscle. I went into Boot Camp weighing 165 and I got out weighing 165, but, I went in with a bit of a gut, and very little muscle tone, and I came out with no gut, and plenty of muscle tone.
If you go into Marine boot camp and you cannot pass your 1st PFT (Physical Fitness Test), you are sent to PCP (Physical Conditioning Platoon) ie; Pork Chop Platoon, etc... Basically you are a fat body and you get dropped until your strength and weight are up to snuff. Also in bootcamp on your first day or two you are labeled as a Double Ration recruit or a Half Ration recruit, meaning you are either too skinny so you get double the food or you are a fat body and you get half rations. The training is still the same. Eitherway, plan on being in the best shape of your life after you graduate boot camp, well at least if you join the Marines plan on that.

I lost 10 lbs. during Basic Training. Some people don't loose any and some gain weight. At BT graduation I weighed 118 lbs.

I gained about 15 pounds in Marine Corps boot camp...went from 98 to around 115. I would say it really depends on if you are heavy or not when you go in, also what branch you enlist in. Some boot camps are longer and more physically challenging than others.

It depends. I was one of a few that actually gained weight in basic. It was all muscle from the running and PT we did. I went from 115 to 135.

It varies from person to person, depending on how much excess they have and how fit they are to begin with.
When my husband finished basic, he'd actually put on weight. When I saw him at his graduation I remember thinking that he'd beefed up (to be honest, he was practically a walking skeleton beforehand), but now to look at the pictures of that day, he seems so skinny.
The food at the DFAC...it's rarely good, but it's like school lunch (the teachers wouldn't touch it but it was "healthy" for the growing kids...), it's made for the caloric needs of the people who eat it.

I had been skinny when I want in at 150 and bulked up to 185 (and a 28 inch waist) The skinny ones gained and the fat ones lost, it's all about getting into good shape.

I gained 15 pounds while in Basic, turned into a fighting machine.
No joke I buffed out and put on the weight, most the fat turned into muscle
