My dog will be 7 in Feb. and I notice changes. She is still very playful and hyper like a puppy, but her body is aging.

It really depends on the breed, but generally, a dog who's 8 is considered a senior. At that age vets like to give a dog a geriatric blood work-up when they come in for their annual exam.

It really depends on the dog. There are many small breeds who can easily live past age 15, but some giant breeds are lucky to reach 8 or 9. Plus, just like people, dogs are individuals; some will be healthy when they're old, others can become frail earlier.

It depends on the breed of canine. For instance a small dog can live around two years more than a large dog. You must consider the health and also the fact that one human year is seven for a dog. If you have a large dog it will be considered old at around age six. If you have a small dog however it may be old when it is eight, depending on the shape it is in.
