Every time I go on the computer, my mom will come in and ask me what I'm doing, who I' m tlaking to, etc. It's literally interrogation! It's not like I've ever done something bad, either! Every time I talk to her, she tells me to shut up and says she has a right to know what I'm doing. I know she does, but she's abusing that right! How can I get through to her?

I just want to mention that she knowsvery well what I do on the computer (I'm an online author), adn she reads everything over my shoulder. It makes me feel very uncomfortable that she doesn't trust me.

I'm sure she is just concerned you are talking to the right people. There is a lot of crazy people and thingson the internet. I am sure she is just afraid you might start talking to a pedifile and something bad will happen. Just be honest with your mom and tell her you are not dumb and dont talk to people you don't know(which I hope is the truth)
and ask her why she does question you, ask her what her concerns are that she acts that way.

She's a good, caring mom, that's what they do. Would you rather she not show any concern for your safety online or anywhere else?

It's not so much that she doesn't trust you, it's the nuthead child molesting preditors out there that scare her. You kids have to realize that you don't know everything and no matter how much you think you can take care of yourselves, these molesters are pros. They are adults and spend full-time working on ways to lure kids who think they can take care of themselves.

Always allow your mom to check on you, no matter what. If you're talking to a known (to her and you) friend and want some privacy, be up front with her. She was a kid once and fully understands what that's like.

Don't be so hard on your mom. She cares...that's more than some.

i know you get upset with her but shes doing the right thing might not be the right way to you but there is so much trouble out here in cyber world as a mom she is trying to protect you the best way she knows how with all the stories on the news of kids getting pulled into things they dont expect moms and dads have to be like like a policeman in the home with computers i do not let my son get online without me and at that he has seen somethings that i didnt approve of give her sometime she will see you are doing ok and let up some but the more you fight her the more she will think you are hiding something that could hurt you just try to remember when she upsets you that she loves you and shes trying to do the right thing

if YOU think she is abusing HER rights, she can toss that computer right out the window. how would that make you feel?
that's exactly what my sister did with her computer because she didn't want anyone else on it. (she came home and found her stepdaughter doing HOMEWORK on her computer).

did you get a job and save your money to purchase the computer? did you drive yourself (in your own car) to get it? do you live on your own by yourself? no? then it's not YOURS to say anything about!

besides, it's not you that she doesn't trust. it's all the weirdo people she doesn't trust. have you seen any of the 'predator' shows about old men and young girls?

You can't. She is the one that needs to make a dractic change not you. Just tell her to go to a retail electronics store and buy a software that will allow her to monitor every program you use and websites you visit. That should give you a break. She will either give up trying to set it up or will stop the interrogations when you are online

It's her job to watch out for you. I'm sure it's a pain now but someday you'll understand and be thankful.

SHE ISNT ABUSING THAT RIGHT. BUT YOU CAN STILL TALK TO HER AND ASK HER IF YOU'VE EVER DONE ANYTHING TO MAKE HER NOT TRUST YOU. IF NOT, THEN TELL HER THAT YOU WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO MAKE HER NOT TRUST YOU....THEN STICK TO THAT.

Stop using the computer to look for porn, and your mom will trust you more.
