Catalytic converter disintegrated into the engine. 140K+ miles, car in good shape otherwise. What are my best options for selling a car that needs an engine replacement? Nissan quoted $5600 to replace motor. I considered selling privately for $7K until this happened.

sell the parts individually. 7k w/ motor = 2k w/o motor.....if you're lucky.

Another option that is way cheaper and just as good as a new motor from Nissan is a remanufactured engine. Remanufactured is much better than rebuilt. I did this on a 1999 Suburban. The new motor from dealer only came with a 36,000 mile warranty. I bought from Jasper and got a 75,000 mile warranty. A year and a half later it is running GREAT! Here is there web site. you need to check them out.

Get the SE with the decrease miles. have you ever owned a automobile with leather-based seats? You the two like it or you hate it. in case you have, nevermind. individually, i'd %. the SE by way of fact it does no longer have leather-based seats. inspite of which one you purchase, ensure you get a CarFax record formerly making this form of large investment. this would inform you each and every and all the provider information and any twist of destiny information that revolves around a particular automobile. sturdy success!
