Why do you not worship the ancient god's? They evidence of their greatness is overwhelming!

1. Hieroglyphs describe Egyptian gods which PREDATE christianity and islam BY THOUSANDS of Years.
2. The Great Pyramid still stands. Surely this must demonstrate the awesome power of those who BELIEVE and worship these gods! With our modern machines, Man still can't match this awesome structure!
3. Modern City names were named after places, that were named after places, that were named after other places that go all the way back to egypt! For example "memphis, Tn". Did you know that 5,000 years ago, upper and lower egypted merged and the capital city was known as "memphis"?
Look around, the evidence is everywhere! Why will you not convert to the OLD religon?

Theodore R: But the hieroglyphs have lots of eyewitness accounts too! And these writings layed undisturbed for thousands of years! Why are you aloud to use your religious writings as "proof" of your god, BUT I'm not aloud to use religious writings as proof for mine?
What does persecution of christians have to do with anything? That isn't proof of anything...My ancient people were persecuted too.

Because the old religions rituals are just as stupid as today's modern religions rituals. It's as simple as that. Any god that needs to be worshipped is not worthy. Children do not worship parents anymore that we should worship a god.

there are signs and symbols the Ancient Ways had a lot going for them and not only in Egypt. however, these Ancient Ways were replaced with a Religious Belief System which was more powerful in the long run. if you look at the Christian Religious Belief System closely you will discover the early Christians incorporated a lot of the Ancient Ways into the Christian Belief System because they found it easier to incorporate the Ancient Ways than to try and destroy the people's old belief systems.

There is no historical evidence for their existence. There is evidence for them being WORSHIPED, but not existing. All the myths of ancient pantheons involve stories that begin "some time in the distant past..."
Christianity is different. Christianity had a specific beginning. Christianity began because the early believers believed they had seen the risen Jesus. They were persecuted and killed for their belief, yet they continued to spread the message. Now you may ask how this differs from Islam (for example). The key difference is that the early Christians preached about an event, the Resurrection. These first century Jews became evangelists. That was completely foreign to Jewish thought. The early spreaders of Islam spread ideas/teachings to a population that mostly had no formal religion.
People often think the message of Christianity is "love and goodness." It is not the central message. The central message is the Resurrection and the forgiveness of sins.

where their god when red sea shallow them while in pursuit of moses & his bunch. where egypt gods when their empire got overun & lost in th roman times & where thier gods when islam swept the land & converted the majority.
