Why, if we all love our children and our lives...why does religion play a factor in negative parts of our lives?

1. wars over what religion is the right one.
2. Religions that have elders that think they can decide if your in the right standing in Gods eyes to be able to speak with family members or not.
3.Spiritual beliefs that think...once saved always saved, commit sin all week, say sorry on Sunday and you will survive the end of this world,
4.Religions that have no tolerance for other religions, "We are right, you are wrong...we will live...you will die."
5. Why do people feel the need to be martyrs in order to prove that they love their God more than any other people have ever loved a God.
6. Why cant we all just get along with one another and realize that the best this world has to offer us is the faith and the belief that the human spirit in itself has the ability to heal , survive and love with out the aide of an organization to tell us that we can only get through hard times with the help of God and their so called spiritual guidance.

The most perplexing thing is that people are so ready to just say what their spiritual belief is but they can barely tell u what it is about.

That there is no end to all the questions that you can ask, and that there are so many ways to answer each question!
So , a less confusing way is to meditate on a silly word ( which is meaningless) and when your mind becomes tired of the uselessness , perhaps you will arrive at the truth...

That people have to clog up the true meaning of any religion with rules and rituals that have absolutely nothing to do with what that prophet/founder taught.

Buddha said be a light unto yourself and do not pray to me after i'm gone...guess what buddhists do? they pray to buddha.

where in the bible does it say you have to confess to a cleryman, pray to saints (catholics), pay $ to a church, and follow additional inane rules each church comes up with.

Fundamentally, there is nothing wrong with any religion which promotes doing no harm to others (which most do). Humans, in their indignance and stupidity, have to be correct and have power over others. This is where religious wars come from and where Muslims have earned a bad reputation.

Spiritual beliefs are one thing. Religious beliefs are quite another.

To be spiritual means you sense the wonder all round you and within you. It is inherently inclusive.

Religions are in constant battle over who is right and who is wrong. It is inherently exclusive and highly divisive.

Please meditate this...how do folks afflicted with a mental illness (such as depression) learn to let go of the negative & create more of the positive around them.
I know that we bring to us that which we desire (in one form or another)...but how do we really let go of negative thoughts when we are afflicted with an illness that causes them?

Thank you!
