They never actually say what that proof is. They just say historians have proven it's true! Where are these mysterious proofs that are never offered? Are you all just spouting back rhetoric you have heard in church possibly?

There isn't any. I have had so many people claim this to me... I looked into it. Roman records during that time, as well as historians who were writing during that time. There is Nothing to show the existance of Jesus outside of the Bible. (And Romans kept damn good records). They will throw out Josephus, but he was not a contemporary... and even Christian Scholars will say his writings were added on to, as the older manuscripts do not have anything showing a James, brother of Jesus or any such mention of those people. What is odd, is that Josephus' father, also a writer, was living in Galilea during the time Jesus was supposed to have been performing these miracles and there is absolutely no mention of these things... Now, Josephus was supposed to have been writing things that he was collecting from eye-witness', yet he doesn't have anything from his father????? Surely the old man didn't miss these things, being a writer himself.

Like maximum different Biblical drivel it really is allegorical and by no skill to be taken actually as historic previous. it really is the entire theory of purity and freedom from "initial sin" it somewhat is being touted right here. as far because the purity theory is going...Why did the Bible difficulty to have her be married if that changed into/is an argument? it really is yet another attempt through the Church to regulate human nature. women human beings like adult adult males have needs commonly will, can, and do act upon them...Its organic to favor to procreate. With understand to initial sin if Adam and Eve were the only persons in the international than there will be far fewer persons round with many extra mutations and issues from inbreeding than we presently have. ultimately, Jesus is fake and unproven in words even all the way down to his very existence and no matter if he did exist the full of Christianity is fake. The justification for why Christianity is fake is worry-free and in some elements: First Jesus only met 80 5-ninety% of the criteria to be Messiah; would not God (assuming there is one) require 100% compliance? 2d: on condition that Jews are nevertheless right here and residing it stands to reason that he wasn't Messiah textile. very last yet no longer least what all Christians & Jews do not get is clean as day...the Jews function residing respiratory penance for the sins of humanity and if there have been in reality a Jesus he died for no longer something (treason, claimed to be Godlike at the same time as only the Roman Emperor can make that declare). it really is the selected human beings aka the Jews that wade through continuously on the palms of alternative(s) who will supposedly ascend first to shop the pearlies at the same time as the rapture takes position. All of it truly is clean in Biblical words and entirely supported there inspite of the e book being no longer something more beneficial than a fariy tale (OT expcepted as there is a few historic info/hyperlinks to a pair of it being real...a historic previous of the historic Hebrew human beings {be conscious I suggested Hebrew human beings and by no skill Jews because the religion isn't like the human beings}).

the truth of Christianity is based upon the period of time in the Roman Empire. Christianity was a mere cult which was among numerous other which the leaders of the Roman Empire allowed to exist during this period of time. when Rome added to the Empire they allowed the people to keep their own religious belief systems and thus there were several different religions existing at the same time until Constantine made Christianity the state religion giving it more status, power and authority.

There are many documents, scrolls and such that delineate the history of Christ. We know for fact that he lived, but so did Siddharta Gautama, and Mohammed. The Dead Sea Scrolls further support Christianity, and structures such as the Temple of Solomon, and the tomb of St. Peter. Visit any museum and you will find a vast collection of artefacts that relate to the life of Christ. Does it prove his existence? Yes, certainly, but it does not prove divinity...the belief in his divinity is called faith....acceptance of him as a spiritual leader. It does not make it so, but people choose to accept it as truth. We have photos of men setting foot on the moon and moon rocks....does that prove beyond doubt it is so....how do we know that George Lucas didn't create the scenario, and since the earth and the moon were joined at one time, rocks could be faked convincingly. Since I am not a Christian, it matters little if you accept the Bible as a basis of religion. But don't attempt to destroy others belief. Inevitably we all die, and in our minds we seek to make more of our existence, believing as we do that we would not be the superior life-form on earth to simply decay into dust. Archeologists are working everyday to learn more.

They got the New Testament documents and a few extra biblical mentions. All of which were written decades after Jesus supposedly existed. If Jesus was even a tenth of the man they claimed him to be in the Bible, everyone with a pen would have written something down about him while he was around..yet we have not one jot or tittle.

"The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance... it is the illusion of knowledge." ~ Daniel Boorstin

P.S.: I notice that someone mentioned Lee Strobel's "The Case For Christ." A much better read is Earl Doherty's "Challenging the Verdict: A Cross-Examination of Lee Strobel's 'The Case for Christ'"

He very effectively debunks and demolishes Strobel's book, piece-by-piece.

I've read some of the "proof". It was just more opinions based on faith, with once again, no real proof to back it up.

Do you mean is there proof that a man named Jesus lived? Or proof that the bible was written by men? I think both of those examples can indeed be proven. I like to think that Jesus had the right idea, but he was misquoted and his ideas changed by the men who wrote the letters included in the bible that we know.

Selnyk, please be more specific. Do you mean the truth that Jesus walked the earth? That He's the Jewish Messiah? That certain sectarian beliefs are true over others?

This is too much of an open-ended question. If you clarify, we'll answer as best we can.

Peace.

Ask them! No proof can back up their fables and their despicable god. What proof can there be, for instance, for Joshua's "stopping of the sun" to complete his butchery and mass murder all in the name of God!
