I think what is most important is what God thinks. However, I do see more and more situations where parents are not taking on the responsibility for their children. Many parents want to be friends to their kids instead of the adult authority figure in their lives. Or they fear losing the child altogether if they exercise their authority.

It is possible however that these parents are trying to teach their child a lesson in some way and are hoping the values they instilled will take over and she will realize her mistake.

I'm sure there is more too this than you may think.

Running off and living with your boyfriend before marriage does not make you a non-Christian. Christianity is not based on works, but on faith. Nothing, even your own sin, can separate you from the love of Christ once you are "saved". It is not my place to say what I "think of this person" But I know a similar young girl who in 1988 did the same thing, and now I am a happily married wife and mother, and yes, still a Christian.

Christian or not, if she ran away with her boyfriend she is obviously dealing with some issues. Or maybe she is not as "christian" as she leads others to think. As for her parents, they are probably just trying to cope with a daughter who is clearly out of control and going to do as she pleases no matter what they say. The daughter is the problem not her parents!

My friend, I have been raised by a restrictive Catholic family. I have done all my best to fit into all our believes and usages. My sister has dated for 7 years and has married virgin, and lives with her husband and has 2 kids. Believe me, for some people things just dont work so perfectly no matter how much you try!!!
I have managed to remain virgin until my wedding with much trouble, had to face lots of humiliations and all. Anyway my marriage is over, and here I am, at 32, too young to be alone for the rest of my life right? So I will have to date, and maybe even live with a boyfriend. No one more than me wanted to do 'everyghing by the book' but it just didnt work ou tthis way

I believe that she has little faith in God. As for her parents, I believe that they believe that no matter what they did, it was out of their hands. How can they actually keep her from living with him? All they had in their favor was that they brought her up with good christian morals. It was her choice to disrespect herself and them. I don't blame the parents, unless of course they would disown her for making this choice. They did their job, raising her up the best way they could. Once she is grown, it's her decisions, not theirs that count anymore. She will be held accountable for her actions.

I think that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Her sin, her parents' sin, is no different from anyone else's sin because God does not see degrees of sin as we humans do, He only sees perfection or imperfection. Since we are all imperfect, we are all in the same boat, and for those of us who believe, Jesus covers us all the same.

God will deal with her and her parents in His own time and bring about for good what He means to. No need to pick up stones, and "AMY," have you not read, "Don't judge another man's servant"?

If you were a "christian girl" you wouldn't do that so please rephrase your question , you sound really dumb... And for her parents , maybe they are sick and tired of her and her crap so they said ok let someone else deal with her problems.

i'm sorry but I'm confused. I thought the purpose of running away was to get away from the parents?

means she is not a christian girl. that's all. If this girl run away to church with her boyfriend for whispering means she is a good christian girl.
