I'm visiting Raliegh, NC for the state fair in october and I'm looking for some place to board my mothers and my yorkies near the fairgrounds. The only place I can think of is Petsmart.

Also my male yorkie is not neutered, will anyone board an un-neutered dog?

Hi there! I live in Cary, NC, *really* close to the state fairgrounds. Cary is a great city--very pet-friendly, lots of great boarding facilities, and most places around here will board an un-neutered dog, though he probably won't be allowed doggie day care (depends on the location). Plus places in Cary are a quite a bbit closer than the good spots in Raleigh.

I'm very picky about where my dogs stay when I'm gone (and can't find an in-home sitter). Here are the best in the area:

Pupsi, Inc: http://www.pupsiinc.com/

Kildaire Animal Medical Center: http://www.kildaire.com/boarding.htm\ (this is where my dogs go)

The PetSmart at Cary Crossroads is much closer than the other PetsHotel in Raleigh, which is on Capitol Blvd. http://www.petsmart.com/PETsHOTEL/locations.shtml

Also, Camp Bow-Wow is Fantastic! I used it when I lived in Chapel Hill. Not sure if it's actually opened yet or not in Cary, but they said AUgust 4:

Good Lcuk!

Never been to Raliegh, NC so I can't advise you on where to go. Try the phonebook when you get there. Make sure to check out the place and see exactly what they have to offer. Sure they'll board an un-neutered pet. Just tell them so they'll know to keep him separated from other dogs. I personally wouldn't want my dog to socialize with other dogs anyway. Too many of boarded pets come down with kennel cough. A very common virus that can be prevented with a shot before they are boarded.

hey! I live about 45 minutes from Raleigh and the closest place i can think of is Boulevard Animal Hospital; 3900 Western Blvd, Raleigh, NC (919) 828-7468. I would give them a call! I hope that helps some!

Take your dogs with you and take them to a local veterinary clinic for the day. Make an appointment to have them bathed with a nail clipping and teeth brushed. It will be more expensive than boarding, but the care is excellent and they'll come away feeling much better and refreshed. You certainly won't have any worries about their care or safety.
