You know when your eye just uncontrollably starts twitching and you feel all crazy? what is that all about? what causes it?

I had this in high school. It never affected my vision, but sure was distracting and annoying. It really made me feel like a weirdo.
The spasm's were probably due to nervousness [of making friends, finding a girlfriend, and keeping up my grades] and not getting a good night's sleep. There was no known medical cause for the spasms, just those issues I suggested.
It eventually went away when I found ways to relieve my stress and of course getting more sleep. I also tried to control my blinking. Whenever my eye would spasm (twitch) I would actually control my blinking, sort of like what you do with breathing. Blinking is an involuntary response, but I found when the "spasms" occurred that slow & deliberate blinking caused it to eventually stop. Remember when you couldn't catch you breath, you would take deep breaths; same premise. To this day when it happens (like from staring at a computer screen too long) I just start the slow blink. Hey, works for me!!

Good Luck!

I have heard it means nothing really, just simple twitching of the eyelids.

There can be cases where medication can cause this because it is affecting your nervous system, also some nerulogical disorders, but generally it is harmless.
