I purchased a pair of Dell video shielded speakers, but when I place them on the desk next to my monitor they cause color distortion on my screen. What should I do besides sending them back?

Don't keep them by the screen. The color distortion is caused by the magnets inside the speaker. If left near the screen, the magnets could cause the screen to "stick" with colors that you see when the magnets come into procimity with the screen. You can still use them if you want, just put them further away. If you don't want to do that, send them back. There is no "fix", as a speaker needs a magnet.

Logitech speakers, as mentioned above, are a far superior speaker to any Dell brand speaker. For $150.00 you can get a Z-10 system by Logitech, or for even less you can get the Z-4.
