A Book of Shadows is ones spiritual journal. Mine contains prayers, spells, recipes (bread), poems, drawings, dream journals, rants, cuttings from my garden, and pictures of my family (physical and spiritual), and other things.
Spells do work and someone else discribed them as prayers with tools.

a Book of Shadow's is the personal book of a follower of Wicca - it will have spells in it, but other things as well. It is usually useful only to the person who writes it because of it's personal nature - they will right down how they do particular spells, which may not work for others.

e book of shadows would desire to be seen a witch's magical mag. If he/she has created any unique spells, those would be written there. Notes approximately unusual occurences, issues seen to be omens, unusual activites of plant life or animals, desires, and visions. especially lots something that he/she would desire to wish to communicate with later. i've got written incense mixtures, herb backyard lists, designs of gardens and altars. maximum witches does no longer shop a spell a secret from a fellow practioner till they felt considered one of two techniques. a million. The spell grew to become into being solid for the incorrect reason (regularly by making use of an green person). 2. The spell in touch some working with greater beings that the spell-author had journey with and the different witch did no longer.

there isn't a book called "Book of Shadows" per say. a book of shadows is a book that a someone makes. kinda like a diary. they can put anything that they want in it. they can put written spells, basic information, things that have gone wrong, situations that they hold dear to them basically anything they want to remember and possibly pass on. while they don't have to pass the book on from generation to generation some do. if they do the new generation adds things to the book. hope this helps.
it isn't a bad thing

a book of shadows is a witches guide to her magickal workings...in it she writes her desires her spells her potions and her results. It is like a diary only to be seen by her or devoted witches in the craft to whom she gives permission. A book of shadows is in a sense like a bible because a witch look to it for that guidance. A witches grimoire however is different only slightly in of the fact that potions are written within it in more detail for example what the magickal correspondence for angelica is...so like yea hope that helped kiss kiss oh yes spells do work by the way...its the energy that is put into it that helps it to manifest. Would you like for me to do a spell for you? I love helping ppl just ask. Laterz

A book of Shadows is like a diary, of magick preformed. What spells work, or don't. Celebrations, Rituals and the like.
I have been doing spells for 13+ years, and yes, they work. PM me if you have more questions.

A Book of Shadows is a type of book associated typically with all of the neo-pagan religions, including Wicca. It typically contains rituals, incantations, charges from whatever deities are worshipped, etc.

It's a book of spells, rituals, correspondences, and ideas, kept by individuals and (sometimes) covens. Some people have published them, or shared parts of them online. It's not a "bible"--everyone has their own ideas. I compare it more to notebooks of family recipes, or a log of experiments and results.
Oh, and sometimes my spells work, and sometimes they don't.

The BoS is, at least in my tradition, the core material, laws, rituals, explanations of tools....ect...
this information must be passed exactly , it is hand copied, any additions are labeled as such......basically we can add to but never take away any material that is core to the tradition. Because if you take away the core, the tradition will be changed.....and therefore not much of a "tradition"
Yes I have had spells that work.....some slower than I was wanting but they work.
blessed be
