This is from Isaiah 14:15, KJV.
The English word translated as "sides" is the Hebrew word, "yerekah," meaning:
1) flank, side, extreme parts, recesses
a) side
b) sides, recesses (dual)
The NKJV translates this verse as:
15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol,
To the lowest depths of the Pit.
The meaning of this verse is further expanded at Revelation 20:
"1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while."
In this context, the NKJV translation of Isaiah 14:15 makes more sense.
RE: your follow-up question, Jesus descended to Sheol, also known as Hades, to release the spirits of righteous Jews from "Abraham's Bosom." (For a description of Hades/Sheol, read the parable concerning Lazarus and the Rich Man.) The righteous were never in the chasm described in this parable; they were in a place of peace where they could wait for the Messiah.
I hope this helps. Peace.

There is a dimensional reality we call the Pit. Isaiah 24:18
says, " He that flees from the NOISE OF THE FEAR, will fall into the Pit!"
Native teachings say there is reality called the FEAR.
Psychics say our thoughts create real energies, and form entities that appear like monsters and things. Wars, violence, hate, even nightmares fuel this FEAR which is created by magnetic forces pulling these spiritual energies inside the Earth.
The locusts that come out of the Pit in Revelation, are these negative entities. It says humans will be tormented but won't die. That's because those on the earth will be attacked on a psychic,
spiritual level,( telepathically, a nd empathically). We well feel the
misery, but it won't really be hurting our body. DO YOU
UNDERSTAND THIS?
That is why our Creator is opening our minds know. So we can protect ourslelves. And maybe avoid ending up in a negative
reality.

v.11-15 The attitude of heart is more important to God than the outward religious exercises (Ps. 51:17). God wearies of the religious form if our heart is not in it. God declares He will not listen to their prayers because of iniquity (Ps. 66:18; Is. 59:1-3).

From Isaiah 14, it is God's judgment for Lucifer because of his rebellion, and pride. Lucifer is cast out of heaven, and his part in God's glory is taken away.
