I think the first year maybe emotionally rocky for both. How would you react if an angel told you, "you are going to have a spiritual baby?"

For the person who responded not good because Joseph wasn't gettin any, well after Jesus was born, they had more children. so read up on your religious literature.

No - how could Joseph ever compete with Jesus 'real' father. He would have to a lot of issues. Since the beginning of time I think stepfathers have it rough. And then there's all the issues with the whole immaculate conception.

which marriage is stable we all have ups and downs and i am sure they were the same.
well considering they did have 8 (i think) more kids it cant be that bad.
they were too busy to think of any thing else.
so many kids no schools, no washing machine and cookers and stove. she was too busy cooking and cleaning to worry abt it, or thats what they must be fighting over
"honey u never help me around the house"
(hehehehehh)

I always liked the late Sam Kinison's take on Joseph and Mary, with Joseph's co-workers snickering behind his back and saying, "So, Joseph....how's, uh, how's the son of god?"

"YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH! SHUT UP!!! You don't know what I go through at work, honey! I'm not saying you're lying to me or anythiing....you just don't know what people put me through....."

Was that meant to be a pun, or just bad typing?

I would say they did. After Jesus was born, they went on to have other children that were both of theirs.
