As an RN geriatrics/hospice being one of my specialties. I'd recommend items such as:

hand/body lotion
stationary
pens
word puzzle books
crossword puzzle books
even used magazines
believe it or not...crayons and, coloring books (Depending on mental state)
puzzles...very ez...about 5 yr age level (Depending on mental state)
clothes sachets

Add a coupon to come and, visit with 'em when ya' time allows!!! Sooo many seniors spend sooo much time in isolation!!!

Or to mow their lawn, shovel snow, all depending on their living arrangements.

Basically any toiletries...As sooo many seniors are on fixed incomes...These items can be very expensive for them.

Trial size toiletries can be purchased very inexpensively...Sometimes at drug stores, dollar stores...Sale price will be 3/$1.00

As many seniors have dietary issues and they all have different tastes in music and stuff . . . it can be hard.
Are these folks in a nursing home or able bodied people in your church or community center ?
It might be better to make up a basket of snacks or CDs of 30s and 40s music and let them pick something out.
