I work in a hospital, there are too many to list. The use of computers is growing all the time. A patient receives their medication from a nurse scanning their ID braclet so as to make sure it is the correct medication as well as the right patient.
Computers are used for patient charting
Billing
Payroll
Images from CT Scans, Ultrasounds and Xrays can be viewed on the computer.
We even have a robot run by a computer that delivers meds to the nursing floors.
We don't have games on our computers but you can surf the web as long as you don't go to a restricted location.
Computers are a growing necessity in the Health care field! They are great when everything is working but a pain when something breaks.

Well, I happen to be a sysadmin in a hospital. There are tons of things computers help with:
Patient Data
Order Accuracy
Electronic Medical Records
Archived Data
Digital Radiography
Emergency Management
Patient Tracking
Service Metrics
Billing
Lots more!
It all boils down to this - faster patient treatment, greater accuracy for medication and treatment, better safety for drug interaction, faster and more complete patient history. The digital radiography can show considerably greater detail which increases diagnostic accuracy. With all of the systems integrated, billing is greatly eased, more accurate, less likely to contain errors.
I could go on, IS in a health-care environment is really a specialty in itself - very different from IS in a corporate environment...
