I was told by a representative from Michigan's Child Protective Services that a child can be home alone at the age of 12.

Its not only in Michigan its kids period , I think its okay for the kids to be alone at age 13-14 but not overnight , when they reach 16 its ok to leave them overnight

there isnt really a legal age. it is your choice. my son has been anle to be left alone since 10. he is mature and makes good choice. BUT we have an alarm system at our house like Fort Knox, so i feel safe. if we didnt have it, i am not sure i would leave him alone.

according to flint police if they don't harm themselve at age 5. But I think it is 13.
