Most likely a POMERANIAN.
They are BEAUTIFUL dogs.. The colors range from orange, red, sables (any of which look fox like in color) to the solid whites, black, blue, white /markings, cream, etc.
Some have the more pointed noses, which are fox like. Some have more short, blunt noses.

I had a Spitz. We named her Foxy she looked so much like a fox only white. She was female and smaller than the pictures I have seen of Spitz's.

either a Shiba Inu or a Pomerainian
Both come is a redish color and look somewhat fox like.

I would think it was a papillion but it could have ben a pomeranian. see link below for pics of both
