Lethargy, lack of interest in food, the "light" goes out in their eyes. These are the same symptoms that an ill cat displays so the cat does not necessarily have to die. Many illnesses of "old age" in cats are treatable. The cat needs a vet evaluation to see if anything can be done.
My 22 yr old cat is "dying" as her kidneys are failing. She is perky, loves her food, moves around the house and garden even though she is severely arthritic and has a happy life. Her veterinary needs are attended to.

it depends on what its dying from, how old it is, and how long it has been an indoor cat. but if the cat is old, it will probably start to slow down, and not eat as much. it's pretty much just like an outdoor cat.

They will be slow of movement if any, sleep a lot and sometimes lose control over their bowel movements. They just slow down and die.

When cats are getting ready to die they go somewhere where their loved ones arent around. they die in peace but they dont want you to see them die. i had a cat that did this it is very sad.
