Here's the thing. During the time of Abraham, he professed that God came to him with a message that he should war with the other of the 12 tribes and take their lands. He did this in the name of his God. These other tribes didn't like this of course, and believing that Abraham's God directed this, did not like his God either. Understandable. They produce their own. We all produce our own, or for the sake of argument, believe in our own way. Now in order to believe that Jesus was the son of God, you would have to believe in the same God as did Abraham. Thus the problem. Abraham's God caused war and took their homes away, and now is saying that He loved mankind so much that He is going to sacrifice His only son so that everyone can be before Him in heaven and worship Him. These other tribes had been wronged in the name of this God, why would they want to be before Him to worship the very instigator of their woes. Since they did not believe that these actions were God blessed and directed, then why would they believe that Jesus a Jew, and prophesied by the Jewish faith was any more real or accurate. Thus the problem with Christianity because they acknowledge that the Jewish faith was true before the time of Christ.

Actually the Quran supports the belief that Jesus was born of a virgin and did great and wonderful works. They also believe Muhammed was the last prophet and say his coming was referenced in the bible. I'm working on that one...I think it's when they ask John if he is Elijah, the messiah, or the Prophet...implying there would be a prophet after Jesus...given that Jesus is the messiah of course...
To comment on someone above...Jesus was a Jew. He studied the books of the old testament and saw how the words and deeds were going against the laws. He clarified the true meaning of things being distorted.
Back to Muhammed...the Quran is actually a very good book. I don't know who twisted it the way it has been. When the Quran talks of fighting the non-believers, it is not talking about Jews and Christians. They are considered to believe in the same God. Instead, they are talking about those that don't believe in God and would attack and persecute the muslims.
Read it sometime along with the bible. They compliment each other very well actually.
Just FYI...I'm not a Muslim, Christian or Jew. I have read the Old and New Testaments, the Quran and the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. I highly recommend it. Very informative.

Yup, the fellow (or lady) a few answer back was right - Jesus wasn't Jewish - He was half Jewish - the other half was The Deity. And I believe Jesus did claim to be God. He did it several times in the New Testament. John 8:58 (a Jewish reference to Exodus 3:14), John 14:9, John 10:33, Mark 2:1-12, Mark 14:60-62.
The Bible lies? Every time? All the time? Some of the time? When it is convenient for you? So it was telling the truth about the earthquake then? How do you pick when it is telling lies?
And also there doesn't need to be a prophet after Jesus. Further revelation from God was not needed after Jesus and his disciples.
Oh yeah, the New Testament was not decided at the Council of Nicea. That was not even the issue there. Please do a little history homework. Thanks.
Also this whole Abraham waring with the 12 tribes? You are going to have to provide a reference for that because the Old Testament, Genesis, Torah - whatever you want to call it makes no mention of that. The only 12 tribes in Genesis are founded by Abraham's great-grandchildren. God told Abraham to leave the country he was living in, move to a country God would tell him. He then told him that he would have many descendents. There is no mention of Abraham being told to make war. So your argument falls apart at the first step.
Jesus is hard to believe for everyone - I'll agree with that. Human nature is selfish and wicked. They don't want a God that calls them on it or interferes with the way they want to live their life.

For the same reason that the Jews don't accept Jesus as the son of God. However the Muslims do accept Jesus as a great prophet and Mary as a holy woman.

How about this. if you are so believe Jesus is Son Of God? Why you believe only Jesus not of his father? And yet you claim its trinity. Huh.! Jesus is just a prophet! and being killed by the non believer, but luckily He was raised by god. And then Christians came out. Why there is no Christian religion before that? Because you are the stubborn people to believe the truth.

why dont u read the Qu'ran and see how much it stands as a testimony to the Divine Birth of Jesus-pbuh, his miracles and his teachings just that he is not the only son of God. Adam -pbuh was born without any parents -- do u know that? for muslims Jesus-pbuh is as much as what Muahammed-pbuh and all of the 1,24,000prophets- pbut are. there is no discrimination between them.
also can u tell me since when christianity began? and u say that Jesus-pbuh as a son of God, then why dont u follow the religion he followed , but instead u chose to create a new religion itself. so who is to be worshipped -- Jesus-pbuh or the God who created Jesus-pbuh?
btw, people who dont even pay proper respects when taking Jesus's-pbuh name shouldnt speak about others.

because jesus never said he was the son of God, your bible lies. After he's death, people assumed he was the son of God because he had .wow. so many great powers which God gave him, but doesnt make him God, anddd the people were punished with an earthquake, probably thinking the son of God sent it upon them, wherease it was only God.
Mark my words
IF
only you had listened to what Jesus (PBUH) said at that time, therw wouldnt be no confusion
and wtf is this about...jesus being a jew? huh
he wasnt a jew you idiot
and Mohammed (PBUH) says nothing but the truth. You should study more about Mohammed and islam, before you ask such ridiclous questions
peace

Believe it or not, the only reason why you believe in Jesus is because lot's of other people told you that it's true. they even wrote it in books and stuff. There's no real evidence (that he is the son of god)
So, imagine yourself living in a land where nobody told you it was true?
Why is it so hard for you to accept that other people have a different faith than you?
