some people have more protein in their tears, and it tends to build up on the lenses. (especially soft contacts) this protein buildup can cause the lenses to be more brittle. i would ask your eye care professional as to the future care of your lenses if you continue to have this problem....but i'm sure you are aware that soft lenses don't have the longest life/wear expectancy, they do wear out and need to be replaced periodically. gas permeables may be an option if you feel that you're going through lenses too fast, and they give you better clarity. good luck!

It tore while you were wearing it? Or while you were cleaning it? If so, try being more gentle during cleansing.

Also, store lenses away from heat because it makes lenses more fragile and easy to tear.
