I also seem to have a dry mouth. I try to drink lots of water and chew gum constantly to get rid of the bad taste. I have noticed that some foods have a strange taste. I brush my teeth several times a dayand use mouth wash but still have the bad taste with in minutes after using them. The past few days I feel like my tounge is swollen. It even looks sort of white. I have been taking a medication called Enablex for some bladder problems and thought that might be the cause. I stopped taking it for a couple of weeks but saw no change. It drives me crazy and I want to know what causes it and how to get get rid o f the awful taste.

You must mention this to your doctor. It may very well be the medication. You may not have been off of it long enough to see a difference. Tell your doc and let him make the call. there maybe an alternative med that will be as effective and that will eleviate the problem.

Hi there, I had pretty bad anemia for awhile, and my doctor said that one of the side effects was a craving for eating ice and dirt all the time. If that sounds like what you have, i'd suggest going to your doctor and having some bloodwork done. I know it isn't fun, but you could at least see where your iron level is and if that is what is causing your problem. My doctor has me on 2 iron pills a day (they are tiny pills that aren't a problem to take at all) and I just had another check up and i'm much better though still not 100% yet. Good luck!

medication can cause this. it sounds like yeast..or thrush as it is called when it is in the mouth. your medication could cause it or a round or two of antibiotics...even some time ago. too much sugar, and starch in the diet. cut those out...as for your medicine, if it is causing it, the problem would not clear up on its own...eat lots of yogurt...lowfat...low sugar...buy a good brand of pro-biotics and take one with every meal and before you go to bed for about a month...yes, it will make you have a lot of bowel movements but that is what you need...throw a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar down your throat about three times a day too. this will all help your body restore its pH levels...remember this will not go away on its own just because you stop taking medication that may have caused it..

it could be gingivitis, or you could have a tooth in the back getting rotten and its old blood from that tooth
