There does not seem to be the same team spirit amongst the Americans. Apparently when they first met up at the K Club Tiger Woods did not even recognise one of the rookie players. I also get the impression that some of the Americans could not care less if they played in the Ryder Cup or not. They do not have the mentality for this format of golf and I wonder if they are that patriotic. They were extremely sporting however especially so far as Darren Clarke was concerned. Well done to them and for taking defeat so gracefully.

Silly stupid conclusion. The answer is they don't, and why would you ask questions about things you don't understand. The USA won 25 consecutive Ryder cups up until 1983. They tied in 89, won in 91, 93 and 99. Now that they have lost three in a row two on Europe's home soil (where the US is significantly disadvantaged) is not total dominance by any stretch of even your imagination. This time Europe was the better team but they even admit to played over their heads, they could not have been better and deserved to win. Let's see how they do in Kentucky in two years.

I'm not sure what the answer to that question is, but (as this tournament shows) Americans aren't perfect at everything.

Honestly, I think that the Presidents Cup is 10x more interesting. (At least it's close)

Teamwork! The Americans were dependent on their individual skills.

American over-confidence, superciliousness, and arrogance.
Perfectly illustrated by Brian M's post above.
