Well, you need to un-train him now. When he starts to whine, tell him "quiet" in a firm voice. If he quiets, even for a moment, praise him quietly and give him a treat. You gradually increase the lengths of time he has to be quiet before you praise. You have to now make him realize that to get what he wants, he has to be quiet, be very consistent and he'll re-learn. You can also try using a clicker - it's an extremely effective training method. Go to www.clickertraining.com - there's a wealth of info there.

Every time he whines put him out side on lease fot a hour or two,and if he does again put back out for day, trust me,He,ll stop whining soon anuff,Dogs Hate being leased up,And every time he does it,He,ll remember the lease,But you have to be strong and do it evary time he whines,You can,t get soft or it will not work, one time you give him a break, you just undid all that work!REMEMBER that when you feel yourself getting soft,More harm,Then Good!Sometimes we have to look like the bad guy, when we really are being the good guy!Its Called Tough Love!good Luck!Hollywood!

ignore him when he's whining and eventually he'll stop. if you give in to his whining, he'll learn that he can use the whining as a tool to get what he wants. if you have any more problems, ask your vet if they have numbers for an animal behaviorist in your area.
