Go to http://www.crockpot.com I like to dip into their recipes for ideas.
This is my favorite! I've modified it because I'm a Diabetic and I need to eat low carb foods. The original recipe called for a bag of fritoes dippers placed on top in the last 30 minutes so they didn't get soggy.

My Mother-in-Law always serves meatballs out of her crockpot at every party. Taking a lesson from her, I'd probably keep a few warm foods in crockpots. It allows you to continue to simmer the food through a long party.
Other foods include stews, soups, ribs and stuffing. My family loves something called sausage stuffing. I can't eat sausage, so Mom always placed the sausage stuffing in the crockpot and the regular stuffing went into the turkey. Do people still do that anymore? We both got what we wanted. Yum!

The good old American pot roast with potatoes, carrots and whatever else you want to add. Chili is always good when made in a crockpot. Any kind of stews or soups. Barbecued ribs come out very tender in a crock pot because it is alot like pressure cooking. Good Luck

I found this recipe yesterday, and have since made it today and it is fantastic!!!!! I can't wait to recommend this easy and cost effective curry to others. CROCKPOT CHICKEN CURRY 1 1/2 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken breast 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 tablespoons butter 1 small onion, chopped 2 small (or 1 large) cloves of garlic, crushed or chopped 2 teaspoons curry powder (spice islands has a nice blend) 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander 1 2/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon white pepper (black may be substituted) Chop chicken into large bite-sized chunks. Place olive oil in crock pot. Add the onion, garlic and chicken into your slow cooker Mix the olive oil and spices into a paste. Add it to the slow cooker and stir until it coats most of the chicken. Cut the 2 tablespoons of butter into 2 pats and place it on top of the chicken in the slow cooker. Cook on low for 5-6 hours. Serve with rice or Indian bread such as naan.

Slow Cooker Barbecue Beans
Prep: 5 min., Cook: 1 hr. This recipe is perfect for leftover barbecue. Although it calls for pork, feel free to use chopped or shredded chicken, turkey, or brisket. If time is a concern, pick up meat from your favorite barbecue joint (just make sure you get it without sauce to prevent the beans from being too soupy).
1/2 pound chopped or shredded barbecue pork
1 (32-ounce) can pork and beans, undrained
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can diced tomatoes with green peppers and onions, drained
1/4 cup spicy brown mustard
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon molasses (optional)
Stir together first 6 ingredients, and, if desired, molasses in a 6-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook at HIGH 1 hour. (You can keep this recipe warm on LOW for up to 2 hours before serving.)
Yield: Makes 8 servings

I make my sauce or gravy ( which ever your family calls it ) in the crock pot.. I cook the meat first in a pan on the stove with garlic. Then I transfer the meat to the crock-pot put on lowest setting add canned tomatoes with some of the meat drippings and all of the cooked garlic.. OMG the meat just falls apart.. I don't cook it on the stove no more. I have found it easier in the crock-pot. And you don't have to stir it so much.

If I am going to have a BBQ I usually spice up canned baked beans in my crock pot. I use bushes baked beans I like the homestyle flavor but whatever you like it fine. I add ketcup onions and brown sugar and let it cook for about 4-6 hours. It tastes so good and it comes out nice and thick.
I also like to make pot roast in it. Add your potatoe first so they get all the juices from the meat then add carrots then the seasoned meat (season with salt and pepper then pour worsteshire sauce on top of the meat once its in the pot then add sliced onions on top of the meat so it soaks up the flavor. cook for about 8 hours. nice and tender and juicy everytime and it makes your house smell so good!
