Founder Charles Lazarus settled on the name Toys "R" Us with a backward "R" for the name of his store. Although the name drew some criticism from some parents and teachers for its grammatical incorrectness, the idea was for it to be an attention getter- it obviously worked and both kids and adults find it catchy to pronounce.

With its popular mascot Geoffrey the Giraffe introduced in February 1960 and the catchy jingle "I Don't Want to Grow Up, I'm a Toys "R" Us Kid," Toys "R" Us has become the most popular toy store all over the world and children really do love the place.

You have asked this twice already! lol. It's just the name of the store. They mean we have toys for sale. It's just a catchy, clever name. Is that so difficult to understand? lol
