Drive through the Sma' Glen up to Aberfeldy. There is a lovely walk along a river called the Birks of Aberfeldy. It goes along to a waterfall and you cross over a wooden bridge to the other side and back again. Robert Burns notoriously wrote many poems along the river.
Continue along the A1 and visit Blair Castle.
You can travel along the Trossachs. The small town of Calendar is lovely.
Also you can visit Braemar. On this route there is the highest hedge in the world. (in the Guiness book of records)
South Queensferry - this is under the Forth Road Bridge and Robert Louis Stevenson wrote Kidnapped whilst in an inn on the banks on the river. The Inn is still there.

All of scotland is beautiful, the west coast in particular. If you're looking for a vibrant city Glasgow is the place to visit, contrary to popular belief it is not full of drunken idiots. The people are warm and inviting. Wherever you go you'll have a fantastic time

Drive from Inverness to Fort William through the Great Glen, its beautiful, especially if there is a very light rain and the clouds are low. Slightly scary roads but beautiful scenary.
Also Culloden, spookily quiet considering a road runs through it.
Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness is a bit touristy but still beautiful as well, great views of the Loch.
West coast is def. the better side.

I've heard the best place in Scotland is the border with England. Its as far away from Scotland and as close to England as you can get without really leaving Scotland. Other wise go to Glasgow and I'm sure you will find some "real scots" getting drunk, being red faced and generally behaving like neanderthals - thats the real scotland for you!

Wester-Ross is fantastic, highly recommended.
Inverness is surprisingly beautiful and you can get to Glen Affrick from there - lovely but long walk.
You could do a bit of island hopping off the West coast.
Take your camera!
