I would like to organize a wedding trade show geared toward the groom (Tuxedo rental places, travel agents for honeymoons, local hotels for the wedding night, D.J's, wine and beer tasting etc) would you go - or would it be better to combine one for Brides and grooms together?

Gay marriages ARE legal in Canada.
Ps: I would hold it in a brewery and there would be free beer samples....

There were certain things my husband was interested in - and they included:
What alcohol we would serve,
where we would honeymoon and stay on our wedding night,
What music would be played
What kind of car would travel in
Buying a house
Combining our finances
What He would wear
What gift he would give me
What gift he would give his best man

I think that is an okay idea. My husband helped plan my wedding but he only wanted to go to things that i went to. He would like the beer tasting but he wouldn't go unless I went. I don't know if it would be a huge sucess. I think you could try it though if you are interested. Who knows you might be surprised!! My husband planned our honeymoon (with my help - we decided together) but I think it would also have been nice to have a bunch of guys to be together to talk about their weddings not like us girls but in their own ways. I think they would enjoy that. Good luck!

In case you have not noticed, men in general are so not into shopping. That's why all wedding magazines are geared to and called Brides, etc. The Bride makes the majority of arrangements. Men just don't care about all of that stuff. Gear it toward Women and you would have a great idea. Include Honeymoon packages and ideas too and all kinds of wedding ideas, indoor, outdoor, on a budget, at home, etc.
Again Men are just not interested in all of that stuff, I don't care if your serve free beer or not lol. They won't participate. lol. And Brides to be would have to drag them there and most would still not go and the ones who do go would rather be anywhere else and doing anything else and you will only be talking to the women anyways lol.
Besides, how is this really any different than a regular Wedding Planner who does all of what you decribed as a service anyways?
The only trade shows I have seen men at in large numbers involve tools or sports or home repair or boats or fishing or cars. lol.

It's definitely creative and unique, but I honestly don't think it would go over very well. While the grooms may have some interest (forced or otherwise!) in the planning of the things you mentioned, I just can't see enough of them getting out there for an event designed just for them. They would much more likely be interested in this event (and in being "dragged along" with their brides-to-be) if it were set up for brides AND grooms. Why?
1. Guys don't usually get that involved in the first place...
2. They don't want to appear "unmasculine"...
3. They probably don't need to be getting in trouble with their fiances by drinking beer and frolicking with bridal consultants and planners... ha-ha!

I would say it sounds like a great idea, but how many men would you count on actually going? the bridal shows i have went to were mainly women, but there were few guys there. May i suggest that you try to get in on the Bridal Show with your man idea- meaning you can have a separate area AT the bridal show directly geared for men, with all of the things they may want and need. I dont see anything wrong with it, but I think you would get better exposure if you get in, like i said, with the Bridal Show. They most likely would LOVE to rent out an area like that!
Good luck!! Oh and free beer? My hubby to be would be there in a heartbeat!!!

WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!!
You can have the one just for the grooms:
Beer garden with Hooters waitresses!
Strippers giving sample lap dances ( for the bachelor party)!
Photos being taken with all his friends that he'll never see after he's married.
AND......
Garage door opener displays
Lawn mower displays
Interior designers there to teach him all about what colors of paint he should use in the nursery.
OH! And finance companies there so he can apply early for all that money he hasn't made for the kids college education!
Somehow, I think you may want the bride to be there too, one for the guys alone may be counter productive?

better to combine one for brides and grooms. I'm sure most guys wouldn't want to see the trade show unless their brides to be dragged them to it.

I think this would only happen if gay marriage were legalized.
Free beer count me in.

Grooms don't care about any of that. If it catered to building a better bachelor party that might work :)
