Stop trying to win-you're not going to; not that way. You took her son from her. She is probably never going to like you. Live with it, be nice as pie to her and live with the fact that she is an old woman who can't let her son go. It seems that your husband is on your side, so relish in that, thank him and love him for it. If you are always nice to her and don't let her get under your skin, you are always going to win. It makes her the bad guy no matter what she says to other people or to you. DO NOT let this woman get into your marriage. Hang in there.

Some say when you marry someone, you marry the "whole package" If you love you husband loves you and you love him, that's all that matters. You two have to live with each other everyday. "The inlaws" come and go. You don't have to deal with them on a daily basis, so my opinion is...don't sweat it! Live your life as you see fit, humor them when they come around, and lock the door behind them when they leave. Life is too short to be unhappy. As long as you and your husband are on the same side, keep the lines of communication open between you two , and just live your life to the fullest! Good luck!!

in-laws can be difficult. You shouldn't ever try to be anything but yourself!! Don't be rude, or nasty, just tell them how you feel. Open a line of communication, so you can all work on the issues. Hopefully this will help your relationship with the in-laws, and reduce the stress between you and your spouse.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!

There is no law that Say's you have to be nice to them after a period of time. It is YOUR house, tell them they can be respectful or get out. And if your husband is not MAN enough to back you, I would rethink your relationship there too. Family is one thing, but when you get married, your life is to your new family first.

I feel ya, my mother in law is the definition of wicked. Just ignore them that's what i do, although i must admit she gets to me sometimes. If it gets bad enough to where its putting a strain on your marriage maybe try family counseling. Or just tell them , if you cant be nice your not invited to our home!

You have nothing to do with them and get on and enjoy your life. Be polite when your pushed into it but don't invite them to your home (it's YOUR space), don't visit them in theirs (only neutral territory if needs be) and they'll get the message. If they don't sort themselves out then just get on with enjoying married life. Don't fall out with your other half though, he will be feeling probably bad about it all so just say what you gotta say and leave it at that. Good luck.

Send her home and then never invite them back. Tell your husband that he can go visit her at her house.
Just don't try to get in between him and his family. Take the high ground.

Just say f#$% it and stop trying to make them accept you. As long as your husband accepts you that's all that matters. Don't let them get to you just ignore them. Just be nice by saying hi and bye and that's it cause you don't owe them anything you're married to him not his family. So just dust your shoulders off and keep it moving and don't pay them no mind. Good Luck

Forget about it....really....my mom-in-law gets pissy all the time...specially when my dad-in-law likes my cooking better than hers or some stupid something like that....If your hubby would rather handle it or "tell or off" as you say....let him...it'll be much less drama for you in the future.
