a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god

Just asked this question about being agnostic:

Some said I didn’t understand the definition of agnostic.
Why would these choices not be a basis for what you believe or not believe?

Many people claim to be what they are not. That is the true meaning of a hypocrite. Someone that claims to believe in something they don't really believe in.
The majority of people are hypocrites by proxy. Not intentionally,
but because they simply don't take the time to discover what they are supposed to believe. That's why there is so much arguement between religions, when in fact they really teach similar things.
An agnostic is someone who doesn't say there is, or there
isn't a God.Tthey are nuetral. But believe in experiencing their
spirituality and right living. They are not pagan, in that they
play with other beings and forces they THINK they can control.

By definition:

an agnostic is one who believes that it is impossible to know if there is a god and does not profess true atheism.

In other words, an agnostic leaves room for the possiblity of a god where as an atheist flat out believes that there isn't a god or a possiblity of a god.

Agnostic is one who believes in God, but recognizes they could not possibly ever know what a god is. BTW Catholics are a form of Agnostic. Read Thomas Aquinas.
Otherwise he would be an Atheist. And say there is no evidence, thus there is no God.

God is knowable- in the word and through his blessings.
My mother is an agnostic-
(when you dont know what to believe)
for some they feel they need PROOF
well I say that, when you have no faith you are going to feel this way or even choose paganism.
there will probably be a day that the agnostics will wish they had faith- god have mercy!

Thomas Henry Huxley coined the word after being called an atheist one too many times. He admitted there could be a god, but it was not some you could prove or disprove so it was "unknown" (a gnost)

It means you don't know if there is a god or not

AiW, in your previous question, gave you a perfect example of an agnostic. Read it again. I also suggest that you watch the video that he recommended. There is a clear explanation of atheism and agnosticism in that clip.

The word agnostic was invented in 1870 and literally means "without (a) knowledge (gnostic)".

The distorted meanings given are not what the word means. It is a meaningless word that literally means ignorant regardless what ignorant peo... okay, agnostics are ignorant. Never mind.

An agnostic hasn't decided if they believe in God or not.

You obviously do NOT understand, still... even after you looked up the definition.

gnostic - agnostic has to do with 'knowledge'

theism - atheism has to do with 'belief'

NOTHING in your previous question has anything to do with agnosticism.

"An agnostic is basically an atheist without any balls." ~ Stephen Colbert

You said you pick D, thinking death as not final. Well, Christians believe we go to heaven, so that would be considered not final, so how would that be agnostic? I'm confused.
