There is this guy that I'm talking to, online. I told him that I was 20 years old. He said, "I was wandering if you wanted to go for a drink sometime next weekend. If not, that's cool too, just come up with a good reason." I get tired of explaining to people that I'm only 20...but why do people keep assuming that I'm 21?? What can I say to him? If I was 21, I wouldn't want to drink anyway..just don't like the taste of it. I really like this guy..so what can I say to him? I always feel uncomfortable saying that I can't, because I'm not 21 yet. I'll be 21 next year..so what do I say to him????

Tell him the truth... that you don't like the taste of liquor and your only 20. There is nothing wrong with that and if he holds that against you, then you don't need him. Tell him you will meet him at a cafe or restaurant. In some restaurants, he can drink.

First of all you are not legal drinking age. Unless the guy is brain damaged, what more reason would he need? Unless he ants to take u for a cup of coffee. Which leads to the second part of this answer: Have enough respect for your selfto TELL HIM: 'I like the idea of us spending time together, but I do not care for alcohol, so maybe we could get a cup of coffee or some ice cream'. If you start compromisng yourself for a man to acomodate him, you might as well get 'place mat' tattooed on your forehead now.

Sorry to say this but just the simple fact that your here asking our opinion about going or not on a date with him,shows the fact that you actually don't like the guy so much.It's so simple, your not 21 and cant drink yet,ok but if you really like him just go out,have a good time with him and drink whatever you want to.Nobody has to force you into drinking.If the guy can't accept this,then don't accept him! ;)

Tell him that you can't go out for drinks because you are not 21.
You have to be 21 to buy alcohol and consume it at bars and resturants that serve it.
You can still go with him if he wants to drink.
You can still have fun even if alcohol isn't involved

Just tell him the truth, if the relationship goes anywhere, he will find out your real age, and maybe upset you kept the truth from him, Since you don't drink, invite him for coffee. BUT BE HONEST!

He isn't asking you to go to a bar for a drink, he's asking for you to go to his place for a drink...of his man-juice. I would try to avoid him if I were you!
