I've read different polls that were taken, but I'm not familiar with any controlled studies where an equal number of men from particular backgrounds, were compared to women in similar situations. Is there one?
Polls and certain studies based on numbers, are misleading, because they're usually based on a few hundred and/or thousand people, when the world consists of far more people than that. These numbers, only prove what type of people are more inclined to vote. lol
Also, there are more women in the world than men, which automatically makes this type of study unbalanced. Of course you'll have more women in church, if more women are living to attend. That's like saying, more women watch Oprah during the morning hour than men. That may be true, but is it because more women are at home parents, why husbands are out working? This is only an example, it doesn't matter to me who watches Oprah.
I think a better question, is not whether men are less religious, but rather, is it possible women find it easier to adhere to the Word of God? Being religious does not mean one is more saintly or commits less sin. It just means they are more inclined to recognize regime and study concerning the scriptures. Even Satanists are religious. In short, I personally don't feel women are more religious than men. But then I have not conducted any controlled studies either. Well, just my answer, since you've asked others to voice their "opinions".

Women do have a tendency to be more spiritual. I see more atheist men but that is merely my own experience. I myself was atheist for a few years. But my spiritual side would not be denied. In a way, I think women are men's link to the esoteric side of life.

I think that woman our naturally spiritual. They seem to be more reverent and open to God's spiritual insight. Men on the other hand tend to rely too much to their own understanding and have trouble being led by the Lord. However, the devil works equally hard at both of them and thus, I think there are equally too many men and women atheists.

Yes, I believe it is true. Our Society shows our girls growing up to lean on their emotions, while the boys do not. I think this lends a lot to the idea that women are more likely to be spiritual.
I see more men being atheists than women.

I believe it to be true,, women are more in touch with their emotions than men.
Spirituality is an emotional state of being.
However I feel men are more prone to religious extremism than women examples: The middle east, David Koresh, Jim Jones, Male pope, Mormon Prophets.
Most religions are run and dominated by men.

WOMAN read it as Wonders -Of-Motherhood's-Absolute -Nature. The creators and care takers of life forms not only for the human specie but every where is female. A female is the temple of GOD to be read as Generator-Operator-Dis solvers of existence.Hence spirituality is built in in the Woman.Men can be any thing they choose to be. Human choices can not alter the Absolute truth.

Hmmm...
It does seem like more women then men are interest in spiritual things.
As far as atheists go... I have not seen it swing one way or the other.
But as you know, one can be an atheist and still be spiritual.

i work on a spiritual site and about 85 % of our visitors are female
whether females are more spiritual or not i cant say
but the conclusion i have came to is that they are more likely to admit they are
however ... another thing that i have noticed is that when a man does open to his spirituality , it is usually a very strong belief possibly more so than the female

I can understand that. Being all loving and understanding comes natural to allot of woman. Men normally see this as gay or something. I try and find understanding but I still have allot of 'fight' in me.
