I'm looking to start eating more rice and beans. A diet similar to what is commonly eaten in latin america. Does anyone know of a slow cooker or rice cooker that will cook both at the same time? Also any good recipes are welcome!

I recommend any crockpot or slow cooker. They will come with directions. Another good option is a steamer where you can steam the rice and warm the beans. They had one on QVC this week that was only $20. I would check that out.

Good luck. You will lose some weight eating more rice and beans. It's healthy for you.

There are some slow cookers that have inserts that allow you to cook two different things at one time. Here is a web site that has a couple.

I don't think so, what I do is boil your beans till it half way cooked and then add the rice and it also depends on if your making a bean sauce for the rice...

They do make crock pots that have a divider in the middle of them. I got a lot of cool stuff from Target, and their online store is great. You might want to try them.
