Koran, or Quran is written in the arrangement of longest verse before the shorter one.

Those short one are the so call revelation while he is still in Mecca, when his wife still run the business and he had time to pray and meditate in the cave. Those revelation comes in drips.

Those longer one are those written in Medina, where he is already a Chife there, and mainly written to sort out the differences face, or the difficulty face.

In Quran, it is also has it that the latest one shall take over the older one. Thus latest one is deem to be more important than the older one, and is therefore arranged in the front.

Thus we have people who read the Quran and see that Allah preach about peace, and some see that message should be preach by sword.

This is because, while in Mecca, he is still a no body, and not yet claimed to be prophets, and have no problem with Jews and Christian. In fact, he was somewhat just, and the people of the book, (Jews and Christian) look to him for setteling of dispute.

Later on, when he gained power, he claimed to be prophet and the Jews and Christian rejected that for they know, the Prophet shall come from the Jews, and the Christian deem that there shall be no more message from God as it was written in Revelation of John.

Thus he order to have them killed. However, this cause a problem, for earlier on, he order those who doubt his teaching about God to check with People of the Book. And he generally respected them (until they rejected his prophethood).

So, those new verses are place first, for they are deem to be more importance, and have higher weightage.

Hope you got the picture. Any problem, please email me direct.

Cheers

Maybe you feel like that because Ramadan just ended. I know I do. On the first night, my reading is slow and easy. Then each night it gets a little faster. By the last few nights, I am reading lickety-split just to finish in time! ;-)
