Every true Christian goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.
(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house
It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
Incidentally, the typical Jehovah's Witness knocks at hundreds of doors each year. He has already experienced degrading behavior from householders, some of whom: stand there naked, mimic Satanists, proposition lewd acts, brandish weapons, sic dogs, scream profanities, accuse crimes, and call Witnesses anti-American (inside the USA) or pro-American (outside the USA).
Fascists have called Witnesses "communists". Communists have called Witnesses "fascists".
Haven't you ever heard of 'hedging your bets'? Simple risk vs. reward analysis should make anyone very reluctant to abuse these ministers.
(Acts 5:38,39) I say to you, Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, you may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.”
Jehovah's Witnesses are going to knock on your door unless you specifically and unequivocally tell them that you do not want them knocking, or if they fear for their own safety. Nothing else will really deter them, so you would be going to a lot of effort to accomplish nothing but pleasing Satan.
Really, if someone goes out of their way to disregard Christian preachers and preaching, what is he saying about himself?
(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

Why prank them? They're just doing what they believe is best, and most of the Jehova's Witnesses and Mormons that I have encountered have been very nice and understanding when I simply tell them that I'm very happy with my own beliefs.
The Mormons and I had a long discussion about that one day. They came to my door and looked very hot and tired, so I invited them in for a cool drink (I admire their conviction to their faith that leads them to go door to door in any weather). While they were cooling off, we sat down and had a very nice discussion. They asked me questions about my faith, I asked questions about theirs, and we compared notes.
They left on good terms and gave me a Book of Mormon. I understood a little more about their beliefs, and they understood that Wiccans are not evil, devil-worshipping people who sacrifice household pets. In fact, they told me that I had been nicer to them than many other people that day, most of whom pretended not be home or slammed the door in their faces.
A little human kindness goes a long way and it can foster a better understanding.

I would bet they've seen it all and it becomes just that much more fuel for their own rather bizarre version of religion and righteousness, but if your intention is only to shock, go for it. When they pass my house by without stopping on a future date, I'd rather they remember me as the guy who was too smart for them to debate about anything. It's not that I actually try to do this, rather I simply and politely say that I am not interested and shut (not slam) my door. Not much fun, I know, but it avoids a lot of headaches and wasted time.
Added comment:
It looks like a Jehovah's Nutcase has been through here giving everyone with a negative comment about them a thumbs down, but there's a thumbs up for the one pro-nutcase comment. Even my courteous "NO" isn't good enough to please them?

No. That's immoral.
Be nice or you will just perpetuate the stereotype of an “evil Atheist” or other non-believer.
I always tell door-to-door religion salespeople that I’m Atheist. If I’m busy, I add that I’m not interested. If I have some time or it looks like they’re fading from the heat then I’ll offer them a cool drink and a rest in the shade (hey, it’s hot out there!)
There are plenty of assholes in the world, why should you add one more?

Turn on Loud Ozzy Osbourne music ( the Diary of a Madman works really well)
Grab big knife from kitchen and slather it with ketchup.
Have ketchup covered clothes on floor in view of door
Open door out of breath and ask if they are there for the sacrifice.
Or, just open the door naked and act like you are unaware that you have no clothes on....
Buy a pentagram necklace and put it on just before you open the door and ask them if then have come to worship in the name of the goddess.
I ahve seen ALL of these work ad one time or another. I prefer the Ozzy sacrifice bit myself.

The funniest thing I ever saw was when my uncle and I were having a religious 'discussion'. I was Catholic, he was a Church of Christ minister. Our argument over the Eucharist was just topping 85dB when there was a knock at the door. Uncle Dearl opened it, and two JW's stood there with their eyes wide. One of them just said, 'Here.' and handed him a copy of Watchtower. They then fled as quickly as they could.
We broke up laughing at that. Although we do get loud, there is no heat to our arguments. I guess they didn't know that.

It's tempting to be that way somethimes.
By playing a prank, you're playing into their game. They WANT YOU to be a jerk so they can leave feeling superior. Plus, the next JW is less likely to ever realize what nonsense it really is.
Instead, invite them in just like old friends. Show them that you're a man of principles -- who accepts different people rather than being a self righteous bigot (like you know who.) Offer them a beverage. When they leave, say "God bless."
You disarm your enemy when he has nothing to shoot at!

Jehovah's Witnesses are nice people, and they deserve a lot of credit for trying to do what the Bible tells all of us to do!
You certainly would not have enough nerve to go knock on some body's door and tell them God loves them, would you?
Especially over and over and over and over!
And especially to jokers like you.
If you do not want them to come to your door in the future, tell them and they are required to put your name on the list 'not to visit[ anymore.

Ask them if an astronaut gets decapitated and his head lands on the moon and the rest of his body lands on mars, where his spirit goes.
:)
They hate that kind of question, because they believe the spirit stays with the body after death.
You could also ask them if they baptize you in the bathtub (and they do that sort of thing) then would they scrub your back for you, too? hihi
