I was in exactly the same position as you, I was 25 and found myslef single for the first time, dont rush into anything, you;ll find if youre not particually experienced at dating you'll just go for the same type of person, and thats not good.

Take your time, enjoy your friendships, go and see some places you've always wanted to, take a class, you might find that you get more attention becasue youve got more to bring to a relationhsip.

24 is not too old, I am nearly 32 and i regularly date, I hope to find mr right, but I'm not in a rush, I know what I'm looking for and am happy to wait, how many of your freinds have settled down with someone that isnt their soulmate?

Good luck

Enjoy your time being single!!!!! No way are you too old to meet Mr Right (can you ever be too old?).
Take your time to get over your last relationship and make the most of your 'freedom'. Being in a relationship is great but there are some things you can only do when you are single. Make the most of them while you can!
Don't worry about all your friends settling down - relationships come and go for everyone - your turn will come again!!

Single at 24 in this age of society is completely accepted so i dont think you're too old to be single. But if you say you was in a very controlling relationship before then you reserve the right to stay single and get over it. I'm sure you will meet Mr Right just as most of us do. Not all men are violent and controlling. I'm sure you just need time to get over it cos you dont wanna be vulnerable and get involved with someone like that again

First of all, well done for getting out of what sounds like a terrible relationship. It can't have been easy to leave your boyfriend after so long, particularly as he was violent and controlling - take comfort in the fact you have overcome one of the biggest challenges and that finding somebody new is going to be nothing compared to that!!

Secondly, you are by no means too old! You're only 24 and you have you're whole life ahead of you. I know its hard when you see your friends setteling down but that doesn't mean you should be doing that too. You will find someone eventually and when you do, it'll be worth the wait.

Really no your not to old at all. I am 27 and I still think I am too young to get married again. It really depends on the State you live in too. I live in Utah were the average age of marriage is 18 to 20. Other states like New York the average is early to mid 30's. I don't miss being married and if your bf was that controlling I suggest dating a ton of people for a few years before you get in another serious relationship. It is important to know and feel like you can be on your own and not just think you can.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, there is plenty of time! I was pretty much in the same position you are, long relationship gone bad! I was 23 at the time and I had not idea what to do. My good friend was also single at the time kind of took me under his wing and got me acclimated to to the single scene. He was a huge help. I got my confidence back. In your case though, your friends are settling down but try your best to find a similar buddy to chum around with on the weekends and watch the guys roll in. Don't fret, if you can't find anything around town, try Internet personals or something. They really have a good success rate. Good Luck!

YOUR 24 AND YOU THINK YOU ARE TOO OLD? I am 35 and just starting dating my 42 year old gf. LOOK, the best advice anyone could ever give you on relationships is to date until you are 28, then move into marriage mode even if it takes until you are 35. Get married in your late 20's to mid 30's and you will do just fine. Relationships have a whole different taste when you wait for people to mature and understand what they want.

Congrats for getting out of the abusive relationship. You may want to take some time to heal and fully recover before jumping into another relationship. Plus, it might be a good idea to go slow and get to know the next guy a little better before getting too attached. Most people, when you first meet them, have their ''best foot forward,'' and it may be quite a while before you really get to see their true personality. However, there are plenty of ''Mr. Right'' guys out there, and you're definitely not too old at 24.

This is the time to have fun. Love who you are first and do not fall into the trap of finding another controlling man.

Twenty four is a perfect age to have fun and date (not young and naive and not to old to get tried out).

Enjoy and don't get hung up on meeting Mr. Right. You need a vacation from relationships right now, when the time is right you will meet the man you will marry.
