Lincoln abolished slavery in the US in 1863 with his speech called the Emancipation Proclamation. It is true that he was born into a poor family and that he lived in a log cabin. He was born Hardin County, Kentucky, and later lived in Springfield, Illinois. He was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth at Ford's Theater in 1865.
My favorite quote from Lincoln is this:
"When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion."

President Lincoln was born in a very small log cabin in Illinois, a midwestern state. He was president during the Civil War (over slavery) and is credited for abolishing slavery. Google search Abraham Lincoln and you will learn much more.

He is the president that caused the US civil war and abolished State's rights. There are no longer any checks and balances against the federal government as a result.
The collapse of slavery was already under way before the civil war, and although slavery was a factor in the war, it was not the cause of it, and Lincoln himself stated on numerous occasions that he didn't care about slavery, but was only doing what he thought necessary to ensure victory.

born February 12, 1809, near Hodgenville, Kentucky, U.S.
died April 15, 1865, Washington, D.C.
16th president of the United States (1861–65), who preserved the Union during the American Civil War and brought about the emancipation of the slaves.
In December 1816, faced with a lawsuit challenging the title to his Kentucky farm, Thomas Lincoln moved with his family to southwestern Indiana. There, as a squatter on public land, he hastily put up a “half-faced camp”—a crude structure of logs and boughs with one side open to the weather—in which the family took shelter behind a blazing fire. Soon he built a permanent cabin, and later he bought the land on which it stood. Abraham helped to clear the fields and to take care of the crops but early acquired a dislike for hunting and fishing. In afteryears he recalled the “panther's scream,” the bears that “preyed on the swine,” and the poverty of Indiana frontier life, which was “pretty pinching at times.”

Something spiritual about Abraham Lincoln I know (since this is the "Religion and Spirituality" section...Is that he had a sister named Sarah....His mother was very religious...consider their first names "Abraham" (as in the father of the faithful in the Bible...and that Abraham's wife was named Sarah in the Bible)
Also one quote from him I remember him saying (pertaining to abolishing slavery) is this: "When I hit that, I'm going to hit it hard!"
(I guess he hit it hard enough!)

He was an atheist.
He hated Jews & bankers.
Or, was that Jewish bankers?
He did not "abolish slavery." He made it possible for bankers to enslave us all. And, the emancipation proclamation only applied to states in rebellion, over which he had no control at the time. So, he freed no one.

PEARLY GATOR is unaware of the Moslem culture and traditions. You can easily tell Abraham Lincoln was a good man because he was assassinated. Bad people are never hurt, only the good ones are.
