i'd love to have a kid, i just don't want to bring into a world like this. i know some of you will argue the point, but it's just my personal choice/opinion so please don't. it just seems like every guy i know wants kids eventually. maybe i can be a sexy crazy cat lady..=/ lol

I feel the same way. I don't think you should worry so much. When you find a man that loves you, all of you, then he will respect your wishes. Don't let anyone compromise your values. A child is a huge responsibility, and I believe there are too many people having kids because they think that is what they are supposed to do. Be strong in your convictions and you will find someone that is perfect for you. Don't settle!

I understand ur point completely, but u can have that conversation w/him, and explain that this world is to bad to bring a child to this world, explain to him that ur scared that the child would grow up to be someone bad, or soneone that would suffer, he will understand if u put it that way, or who knows, maybe u dont want kids now but later u might want a kid and, if u do just read as much as u can about raising a child and get prepared, I know I want a kid eventually, and I will know how to raise it,

There are PLENTY of guys out there who would rather not have a child.I use to be the same way untill I made a little mistake but I don't regret my son.I always thought it was really selfish to bring a child into the world and there are so many kids who need mommies and daddies.

So what if you aren't ready to have children?? Kudos to you for being responsible and level headed enough to know this in advance. Too many babies are born to parents who weren't ready, or just plain morons. These are the kids that are voted into office to run our country...go figure.
I'm sure you will find someone who feels the same way you do. Just look at it this way--it could help you weed out some potential losers....

I do not think the kid issue dooms anyone to be alone. I know lots of people who don't have kids and have happy relationships, and I know lots of people with kids that have miserable relationships. Being at level 6 and not having a life away from the computer is more likely to doom anyone.

Plenty of people want kids. It's almost basic human nature to want to continue your genetics and memetics.
Being honest about this is important though. I'm pretty sure you can find someone who (a) doesn't want kids... or someone who (b) wants to adopt.
Moreso, you could date someone who's infertile... where the option just doesn't exist for him.
I'm guessing that when you say that you don't want kids, you mean 'I don't want to go through pregnancy and child birth', in which case, adoption can definitely function as a nice compromise.
