I bought my first digital camera and was amazed at how quickly I need to change the batteries. For that reason, I will stick to the re-chargeable kind.

What you want to use are rechargeable batteries = Ni-MH.

Regular batteries will go too fast, so for long term will be to expensive. Best regular batteries: yes lithium ion but are much, much, expensive than alkaline. For the same price (a set of 4 regular lithium ion batteries) you can have a set of 4 rechargeable 2500mA batteries.

Ni-MH is an abbreviation for "Nickel Metal Hydride" it is a type of rechargeable battery. They aren't too expensive (escpecially since you won't have to keep buying alkaline batteries). The rechargeable batteries are capable of holding a charge much longer than alkaline batteries. I found an example of the type of batteries and you are looking at about $26.99 (that includes a charger and 4 AA rechargeable batteries.

hi mrs lampard...always stick on to lithium ion batteries...they last more and u can charge again and again...the old method of changing batteries wont be profitable these days...also when battery goes low it affects ur came...taking photos, deleting them, transferring them to pc etc kills battery...thats y i suggested canon which has no problem at all...since u have bought it just sterday may be u can give it back soon and get a good one...if u can mail me ur current model of the cam...i will suggest u an alternative of that type of a different type that has no troubles at all...
